Criminal Justice Applications Developer Sold to Legal Software Company
Specialist software developer to Police Forces and Local Authorities, KIM Software Solutions, has been sold to Peapod LegalOffice for an undisclosed sum. The sale was facilitated by Prism Corporate Broking.
Dedicated to designing and developing tailored applications, including internet and intranet database driven systems; KIM Software Solutions predominantly work with police forces throughout the UK and overseas. Their systems deliver unique and integrated solutions to manage back-office functions. KIM are especially well known for their applications for the management of seized and found property, staff performance & development, and archived records.
Their solutions, which have also been tailored for use within Trading Standards and other public and private sector organisations, are developed by KIM’s in house technical team utilising their Oracle and SQL expertise to create user-friendly, yet strategic solutions.
Joint company owners, John Harvey and Derek Goldsworthy, founded the company in 1999 and have since focused on designing, developing and applying technology to their clients’ business processes to significantly improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Some 11 years later, John and Derek decided to sell the business in order to retire and approached the highly experienced team at Prism Corporate Broking to facilitate the sale. After negotiating with a number of potential acquirers, Peapod LegalOffice emerged as the front runner and the deal completed soon after. The terms of the deal remain undisclosed.
Derek Goldworthy from KIM Software Solutions comments, “Both John and I are very satisfied with the outcome of the sale in terms of the timing and the entire sale process. Prism’s experience ensured the sale ran very smoothly throughout, and we thank them for their constant attention to detail and energy from the outset. We are also extremely pleased that Prism identified Peapod as a potential buyer, we had a loyal and dedicated team at KIM and it was important to us that we felt comfortable with the new owners. We are sure Ian and his team at Peapod will continue the successes and present KIM with new opportunities for the future.”
Peapod LegalOffice have developed a portfolio of software solutions for high street and specialist law firms, incorporating electronic forms and other practical tools that integrate with Microsoft Office applications to provide functional and user-friendly systems to improve business efficiency. Ian Wimbush, CEO of Peapod LegalOffice adds, “The synergies between KIM and our business are interesting in terms of development capability and opportunities in both markets. We look forward to working with the Police and KIM’s other clients to further enhance our offering to these markets.”
