M&A Insights – The Elevator Pitch
Basic but so essential, is the ability to describe your business succinctly to a potential investor or anyone for that matter? This is the classic ‘elevator pitch’ – it needs to be concise, brief and gain the interest of people so they become more inquisitive. If you have difficulty doing this then it may be worth looking again at your business proposition – or at the very least, the way you see it (suggestion: put yourself in your clients’ shoes when thinking about this).
Clarity is a key objective – good business propositions are invariably easily understood. Delivering a good product or service might be hard but the concept should be easy to grasp. Think about what is it that you do well to differentiate you from other providers and consider your USPs and how they can be summarised in one paragraph.
