The Prism team are delighted to be celebrating 20 years of helping business owner-managers achieve their M&A goals.
We provide expert advice and support to clients going through business sales, acquisitions, valuations and more, with a dedicated focus on the technology sector.
Prism was founded in 2003 and Peter Watson joined shortly after, having recently sold his own instrumentation business. Peter then acquired the company in 2006 via an MBO. A qualified accountant with PWC, but having spent much of his career in sales roles, Peter wanted to utilise the combination of sales skills with his business and financial acumen to help other owner-managers. His aim was to build a company with a highly personable and trusted reputation, but to continue working directly with business owners.
Robert Fiske joined Prism in 2007, bringing impressive business knowledge and experience in consulting on strategic development and succession. He and Peter then made the strategic decision to focus on the technology sector. In 2012 Robert became a co-owner and Director of Prism.
Today, the team has grown to also include Jack Robinson as Corporate Finance Executive and Alison Lewis as Marketing & Research Executive. The business however remains true to Peter’s original aims, being Director-led, to ensure that the knowledge and experience gained over a lifetime in business and hundreds of deals, are available to each and every client. The team are experts in tech M&A with many years of experience in helping owners of tech sector businesses, primarily those involved in software and IT services but also other technologies such as instrumentation and environmental technologies.

Robert Fiske, Director of Corporate Finance of Prism says, “The tech sector is a very interesting area to focus on as it is forever changing. Ten years ago mobile apps and cloud services were popular with acquirers. Whilst these remain attractive the market has matured and today it is cyber security, AI and green tech that are amongst the “hot” areas. We look forward to seeing how the sector continues to evolve in the future.”
